Dr Natasha Loges is Head of Postgraduate Programmes at the Royal College of Music and has co-edited Brahms in the Home and the Concert Hall: Between Private and Public Performance.

As a song accompanist, she has performed in various venues overseas and in the UK. Her most recent book, Brahms and His Poets, has met with universal acclaim: “An extremely useful and endlessly fascinating book, which should be an invaluable volume for performers and listeners alike” wrote Gramophone.

In this study event Dr Loges will explore settings by the poets Daumer, Rückert and Goethe, and the influence of ideas about the Orient on the Schumanns and Brahms.
