Ticket holders for the recital of Winterreise by Ian Bostridge and Joseph Middleton on 18 February are invited to join Dr Clive McClelland of University of Leeds for a pre-concert talk at 6.30pm, The Venue, Leeds College of Music.
The talk will explore the idea of the “wanderer” in relation to the winter landscape, with a particular focus on Schubert’s portrayal of storm imagery. Booking is not necessary, but as the recital is sold-out, we suggest you arrive with plenty of time.
As an additional treat, copies of Ian Bostridge’s book ‘Schubert’s Winter Journey: Anatomy of an Obsession’ will be on sale. Ian will be available to sign copies after the concert.
