LOVE: Brahms Liebeslieder-Waltzer, Op.52 & 65

While many concert halls remain dark, Blackheath Halls and Leeds Lieder are holding hands this year to offer a perfect Valentine’s Gift for you and your loved ones: Brahms Liebeslieder-Waltzer live to your home.

When published in 1870, these Love Waltzes were an instant success, and have proved popular with musicians and music lovers ever since.

Introduced by Professor Natasha Loges, artistic director of Leeds Lieder Joseph Middleton is joined by Blackheath Halls opera patron tenor Nicky Spence and award-winning soprano Mary Bevan. In association with Barbara Hannigan’s Momentum project encouraging cross-generational collaboration during the pandemic, the ensemble is completed by young artists Fleur Barron, William Thomas, and Dylan Perez.

This work will be sung in German with English subtitles and piano accompaniment.
