Praised in the BBC Music Magazine for their ‘irresistible combination of arresting programming and vocal flair assembled around pianist Joseph Middleton’ The Myrthen Ensemble has enjoyed performances for BBC Radio 3 and at the Wigmore Hall, Snape Maltings, Bath MozartFest and Wimbledon Festivals. Their début recital CD, of tonight’s programme, will be released in April 2016 by Signum Records and looks to the magical lure of all things lunar for inspiration. Seduction, intrigue, evil spirits, rapture, wit, longing and dreamworlds all infuse this recital of songs, duets, and quartets.
