Programme to include: Kidane Song Cycle (World Premiere), Schumann Liederkreis, op. 24 and Britten Winter Words

Commissioned for the 2018 Leeds Lieder Festival with the generous support of Peter Hirschmann and the Royal Philharmonic Society, we are delighted to present this year’s Leeds Lieder world première song cycle. Daniel Kidane stands at the forefront of young British composers, bringing fresh ears and raw talent to the contemporary music scene. His works have been performed at Wigmore Hall and by members of the London Symphony Orchestra and today’s work has been written specifically for tenor Nick Pritchard, no stranger to Leeds audiences following his successes in Opera North’s Pleasure. Nick has also been heard at the Royal Opera House and Aldeburgh Festival, and frequently in recital with Ian Tindale, winner of the Pianist’s Prize at this year’s Wigmore Hall International Song competition.

Tickets: Area A £15, £13 (conc) / Area B £13, £11 (conc) / £5 (U26/students)
