Leeds Lieder opened its 2015-2016 season with the first recital in a fascinating survey of the songs of Richard Strauss.
Johnny Herford, a recent prize-winner at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards and Wigmore Hall International Song Competition, was accompanied by Leeds Lieder Director Joseph Middleton, the curator of this series in a programme of songs by Strauss, Mahler, Thuile and Pfitzner.
