BBC Radio 3 – In Tune: Live broadcast
- This event has passed.
BBC Radio 3’s drivetime programme, hosted by national treasure Sean Rafferty, will take a rare holiday from Broadcasting House in London and relocate for one afternoon to Yorkshire for a live, Friday afternoon special.
Leeds Lieder is thrilled to play host to ‘In Tune’ and for our audience it will provide a glimpse into the magic behind ‘live’ radio. Sean’s guests will include our own Roderick Williams, Joseph Middleton, Katarina Karnéus, Mark Padmore, Julius Drake and Rory Kinnear in live performances and erudite and witty interviews. The menu of what’s on offer to Leeds Lieder audiences over the next few days will be discussed and there will be a taster of the inspirational education projects that have been taking place in schools and cultural centres across Leeds and the surrounding areas. Music featuring alumni from our host venue, Leeds College of Music, will also be performed.
Tickets are available via the BBC Shows and Tours website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/showsandtours/shows/). Please note that, due to the live transmission, those watching In-Tune will not be able to join the Festival Welcome Party and Pre concert talk (in the Recital room, starting at 6.15pm) until after In-Tune has finished at 6.30pm. Those entering the Welcome Party after In-Tune will be warmly welcomed and we will endeavour to delay the start of the talk itself until everybody has arrived.
