Programme to include songs by Mozart, Mahler and the world première of Leeds Lieder commission The Just Form by Edward Rushton, setting Colin Rorrison’s translations of poems by Sophia de Mello Bryner Andresen.
Winner of the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Awards, Austrian soprano Christina Gansch is a member of the International Studio of the Hamburg State Opera. She has already given numerous auspicious débuts including with the Deutsche Staatsoper under Barenboim. Together with outstanding pianist Christopher Glynn, she will give the world première of our second Festival commission.
