Catriona Morison and Joseph Middleton
- This event has passed.
Fresh from being crowned Cardiff Singer of the World, the first British singer to win the accolade, Catriona Morison makes her Leeds recital debut in the stunning Howard Assembly Room alongside Leeds Lieder Director Joseph Middleton, described in ‘Opera Magazine’ as ‘the rightful heir to the legendary Gerald Moore’.
A BBC New Generation Artist, Morison has devised a programme full of Romantic longing. Brahms and Korngold bookend the recital and at the heart stands Maria Stuart’s final prayer before her execution and Mahler’s transcendental Ruckert Lieder, a cycle that is timeless in its exploration of the human condition.
“She’s a singer of much character, a real musical intelligence”
