The German soprano is praised for her shining, luminous voice with elegant, noble timbre, her musical intellect, her mesmerizing interpretations and her touching presentation. Award winner at numerous international competitions and already in much demand as a recitalist she has sung at many of the leading opera houses and concert halls including Bavarian State Opera, Glyndebourne Festival and the Vienna Musikverein. As a review in the Mannheimer Morgen recently mentioned: “The bottom line is that the young soprano is simply overwhelming.” Her programme today juxtaposes justly favourite songs by Schubert, Brahms and Strauss with a scattering of lesser-known fare. Three giants of the song writing canon, sung by a leading soprano of her generation, in partnership with Leeds Lieder Director Joseph Middleton: there could be no more fitting end to the 2022 Festival.
